U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) just recently sent a notice of reminders for the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Portal.

New cbp.gov Content

To better serve ACE Portal users, CBP has updated information posted to www.cbp.gov/ace.

With these updates, you will be better able to locate information on the following topics:

These updates do not affect a company’s existing Portal account, account structure, or access for users.  No action is required.  The information provided is for awareness.

ACE Portal Users

Account Lock Resets

As a reminder Account Owners and Proxy Account Owners are able to reactivate accounts that have been locked.

If you are unable to reach an Account Owner or Proxy Owner you may contact ACE Support for assistance, but may experience delays due to the high call volume.

Password Resets

If you have forgotten your password you can self-reset by following these steps:

  1. Enter UserID and Click “Forgot Your Password?” from the Portal logon screen.
  2. Answer “Challenge Questions” (answers are case-sensitive).
  3. A new password retrieval e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address on file for that UserID.
  4.  Follow the e-mail instructions to obtain a temporary password.
  5. Login to ACE with temporary password.

You will be prompted to create a new password before proceeding.

Reports

Have you seen our new series of ACE Reports videos?  They are designed to help users:

·  Understand reports

·  Navigate the interface

·  Run standard reports

·  Create custom reports

·  Setup advanced features

The videos may be accessed on the

ACE Training page.

Reminder: Under CBP’s Terms and Conditions, Account Owners are responsible for managing user access, and safeguarding Account information.  Sharing a User ID and Password circumvents these safeguards, and ACE Support is unable to perform password resets or account lock requests calls from individuals who do not match the individual on file with a UserID.
ACE Account Owner Reminders

Client Accounts

Account Owners do not associate the corporate identifier of a client to your ACE Portal Account structure. This will prevent the client company from establishing their own ACE Portal Account.

To obtain access to the records of your client, please contact your client directly and request they provide your User account access to their Portal account.

Account Structure Adjustments

If your company has multiple ACE Portal accounts (not sub-accounts), and a business activity is added to one account, you may not add it to another.

For more details on this, please visit our Managing an ACE Secure Data Portal Account page.

If you have any questions on the items outlined above, please submit them through the appropriate resource via ACE Support.
