BIS Releases new requirements for Exports to Hong Kong
The Bureau of Industry and Security released a new requirement for shippers exporting to Hong Kong. The mandate states that exporters must obtain a copy of a valid Hong Kong import license (or “no license required” letter from the Hong Kong government) before exporting any item subject to the Export Administration Regulations and controlled on the Commerce Control list for national security, missile technology, nuclear nonproliferation or chemical and biological weapons reason.
The exporter must have the copy in its possession and license must not have expired at time of the shipment.
