Exclusions from China Section 301 Tariffs Have Been Extended by USTR Well into the New Year
The Office of the United States Trade Representative has extended the reinstated COVID-related exclusions in the China Section 301 Investigation until May 31, 2024, which was originally set to expire on December 31, 2023. This extension allows for a thorough review of these exclusions, considering factors and goals outlined by law, to assess opportunities for sourcing shifts to the United States or other countries. Additionally, it sets the stage for aligning future decisions on these exclusions with the ongoing four-year review. A public docket for comments on existing exclusions opened on January 22, 2024, enabling broader engagement on this matter.
