NAFTA Works
#NAFTAWorks
Scarbrough has been asked to participate at an event on Friday, February 9, 2018 put on by the Iowa Association of Business and Industry, along with the Greater Des Moines Partnership, The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the Iowa Farm Bureau. Keynote remarks prior to the panel discussion will be presented by Sen. Joni Ernst. The panel discussion is to Iowa Agriculture & Business and what’s at stake for farmers, manufacturers, and service providers in the NAFTA negotiations. Other panelists include Tony Hogan of Kreg Tool, Charles Sukup of Sukup Manufacturing, and Mark Recker of Iowa Corn Growers Association.
The half-day event is a must attend if you are in Iowa! See below for registration details.
Last year, the half day event was on The Future of NAFTA. The event featured speakers from agriculture and business to share views on why modernizing NAFTA makes sense — and why withdrawing from the agreement would be a mistake. Watch the video from the event hosted last fall. We can’t wait to see what’s in store next week after the sixth round of negotiations is over with one round left.
Faces of Trade
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has done something really cool. The Chamber has created a series of videos focused on different organizations affected by trade. The Chamber dives into the effects that trade agreement changes have on these organizations and highlights different “faces of trades.” Definitely check it out!
