Transpacific Eastbound Market: Local Port Charge (LPC) Effective 11 October 2024

Due to the significant increase in operational costs, in the event of labor unrest in the U.S. East Coast and U.S. Gulf Coast ports, CMA CGM will be implementing a Local Port Charge (LPC), effective 11 October 2024.
During any period of labor unrest, including but not limited to strike, lock-out, work stoppage or slow-down, LPC will be assessed on all shipments originating and discharging in U.S. ports. This Local Port Charge shall not prejudice Carriers right to invoke Term 10 of its Bill of Lading and charge freight and costs accordingly. In circumstances where the Carrier elects to invoke its Term 10 rights, no Local Port Charge destination shall be applied. The Local Port Charge destination is not in effect for cargo originating or discharging in any U.S. West Coast or Alaska port.
Unless otherwise specified, the following LPC will apply to tariff or service contract rates for all cargo and commodities moving under below scope: Commodities: All
